Duplication of student ID will happen upon user update the student ID manually and activating other student. For instance (refer scenario below),


  1. Student A is activated in wrong intake, for example 1508
  2. User manually changed the student ID using the correct intake which is 1509
  3. User perform activation to other students for 1509 intake
  4. System will create a duplicate student ID


As a matter of fact, there is no duplicate checking if student ID is manually added/updated. Checking is only applicable if student ID is generated from the system. 


To solve this issue, please perform steps below:


1. Change the student status to New in Admission > Student Search > Student Profile > Update Student Status (action link)

2. Update student intake in Admission > Student Search > Student Profile > Update Record (action link)

3. Activate student in Admission > Student Search > Student Profile > Activate Student (action link)
